Upgraded to Ubuntu Gutsy

Not really upgraded but new installation on laptop (HP NC6400) to Ubuntu Gutsy. So far I love it as usual. Most of the hardware are detected correctly except for a few. Installation is straightforward as usual. That is Ubuntu. And this time, Compiz really rocks. Not only it look damn good but I began to feel more productive !

So, what I am going to do this time. Few things in my mind right now:-
  • Create a VM Image using VMware Converter of my company Windoze and run it on a VMware player/VMware server on Linux.
  • Install OpenSolaris using VMware Server on Linux
  • Learn Netbeans 6.0+Ruby+Rails+JRuby
  • Scripting Wireshark

Solaris 10 8/07 Screenshot

Solaris 10 8/07 desktop although not as impressive as OpenSolaris desktop but it is still usable for me (at least). i just need normal terminal and a web browser !

Compiling Apache , PHP and now ... Subversion 1.4.5 using this guide.

Solaris 10 8/07 released !

Solaris 10 8/07 have been released and I am just finished installed it on a Compaq Proliant Ml110.
The overall installation is quite straightforward but I am looking to try the new installer , Caiman but that only available on Solaris 11 which is still under heavy development.

I am using Solaris 10 to install Gforge.
It is a going to be fun since Gforge is quite a bit of challenge !

To download the Solaris 10 8/07, get it from here.
And remember to download the Solaris Companion CD which come with a lot of free software such as GCC compiler and other good stuffs !

OpenSolaris on VMServer 1.0.2

I did an upgrade for my laptop from UBuntu Edgy to Feisty Fawn.
The upgrade is smooth. I was impressed as usual.

And I also installed Beryl 0.2.0 ! Awesome ! Will post some screenshots later.

I want to play around with OpenSolaris but I don't want to have so any boot . Dual-boot is enough for me ! So here come VMware Server to the rescue.

Testing my New Blog

I think it is time I fully used Google services. I have been ignored it so much but I know Google have everything I need from email , messaging , blogging , gallery and etc.

And the best thing it is free , easy to access (you only need a internet connection and web browser) and it is user-friendly !

Go Google !
