I always want a tool that can convert AVI video to DVD format. Reason is I want can play it with my old faithful Pioneer DVD player. I know I need to build a home studio (maybe MythTV or similar) but that will have to put on hold due to budget issue and further justification. I found a new tool (not really new) named Devede and it is GUI based application. It is available for Ubuntu Jaunty and other Linux distribution as well. I used to use script with FFMPEG to do get the job done. It also have option to enable multicore CPU.
